The western point of the 900km long extending Altai mountains is the Altai Tavan Bogd. Its highest peak is Huiten and tears in 4374m above sea level. The Altai Tavan Bogd National Park covers 6362 sqm. and is since 1996 under state protection. Eternal snow and glaciers are a challenge for Mongolian and international climbers.

The National Park Altai Tavan Bogd is an ideal area for hikers, horseback riding, hiking, wildlife watching and photography. The area is 170 km away from Ulgii.
